"It has just been a significant wind and rain event"
~Nick Morici, Spokesman for the New Jersey State Office of Emergency Management
The same goes for Norfolk. Not that I didn't get SOAKED when I took Tiste in to work on Saturday morning and had to run in for a few things. Or, when I had to stop for coffee on my way back to Amanda's apartment. Overall though, Hanna was a breeze with a little rain. Our hurricane party was disappointed in the 'show' but agreed it was absolutely for the best!
Lisa and Ted put on a good Hurricane Party. The salsa Amanda and I made was gone within an hour or less of our arrival. We chatted in the kitchen while Lisa cooked the Tamale Pie and ran our mouths more when she had it in to bake. Had our yummy dinner of it (I loved the cornbread) and then played some Triominos -- Tiste won the first round and Lisa the second.
The movie was good but not but good but not...? I had very mixed feelings about it!
BTW, Ted warms my heart more and more every time I see him - Geeks are sooo awesome! Ted's PS3 set-up in the living room makes me giggle... After the movie we played this really cool game on the PS3 where you shoot yourself out of a rubber band into a cityscape and bounce around breaking stuff and getting hit. You get points for all the stuff you hit and the stuff you hit that hits other stuff... Yeah, it was funny. Lisa made
Crispy Sopapillas and coffee for dessert, which were a MAJOR hit!
We finally headed out around 12:30am, dropped Amanda off at her apartment and grabbed our stuff and came home. Turns out the temp dropped awesomely last night and without the rain we could be in the house with the windows open. Tiste and I finally got to bed around 3am or a bit later. We managed to wake-up on our own sometime around 9:30am. I'm really glad there's nothing but laundry that HAS to be done today! :)
But, we'll probably do dishes and grocery shopping anyway...
